Statement of intent

A way of working that honours our complex beings and ecosystems
In a world driven by exponential, extractive economic growth, exacerbated by systemic shocks, and exposed for the fragility of our social, political, financial, and ecological fabric - what we need is many things, but my vision is something like the opposite of fracturing.
A kind of conscious freedom that gains ground for non-judgmental, curious, holistic, intellectually rigorous, experimental, collective, wisdom-centred, and nature-embodied inquiry.
One that looks to evaluate our systems and institutions from first principles and usher in a different sort of conversation about the future we will inhabit. One that works collaboratively across edges to find the potential that exists in diversity. One that channels this into the means, structure, and actions needed to bring about practical demonstrations of a new reality - a regenerative economy.

Regenomix hopes to play a catalytic role in this process: to be a thought partner in strategy, research, organisational and systems change for complex sustainability challenges.
About
Charmaine Che
Independent Contractor
Charmaine is an interdisciplinary strategist who draws from ecosystem principles to inform her portfolio of work. She is a thought partner for consultancies, NGOs, and businesses on impact and organisation strategy; a citizen scientist in marine conservation; a ceramicist; and a DJ who seeks to facilitate conscious embodiment.

Most recently, her advisory work has involved designing a network operating model for the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC) - an ecosystem of actors combating mis/disinformation around the climate crisis that spun out of the European Climate Foundation (ECF), and developing the technical guidance for a Net Zero Business Transformation series with the UN Global Compact Network UK (UNGC), building upon the work done by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) to give CSOs, sustainability leaders, and their teams the practical tools and knowledge they need to implement meaningful change within their companies. She has also supported the NGO Barefoot Conservation in monitoring the health of the reef and building community resilience in the bioregion of Arborek in Raja Ampat, West Papua.
Previously, Charmaine she was a sector co-lead in the UNFCCC High-Level Climate Champions systems transformation team, rallying industry and non-state actors to join the largest Climate Ambition Alliance at the time and mobilising commitments to 'Race to Zero'. This involved working with consumer sector industry leaders to create decarbonisation pathways (now published under the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action), as well as climate policy and advocacy campaigns to increase sectoral ambition towards the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow.
Her past projects and clients also include working with international development organisations such as the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Charity: Water and TBA21 Academy through the Accenture Development Partnerships, and advising clients such as Santander, Nordea, Tata Group, BP, and Aker Horizons on various decarbonisation and circularity projects in the sustainability consultancy Xynteo where she was a Principal, and at Accenture Strategy where she was a Strategy Consultant.
Some project highlights include: an investment thesis on circular food and agriculture systems for the banking sector, a green hydrogen-based transition strategy for an Indian steel giant, and a history-making Net Zero transformation programme for a hard-to-abate industrial client.

Charmaine has an MA(Hons) in International Relations and Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews, advanced certificate in Climate Financial Risks and Opportunities from Imperial College, and is currently a learning fellow in Regenerative Systems at ETH Zürich's Systemic Design Lab.
